Leah is a Licensed professional Counselor and maintains licensure with the Arkansas Board of Examiners in Counseling. Leah obtained her master’s degree in counseling psychology from the Forest Institute of Professional Psychology in 2010. As a LPC, she obtained experience working with children, adolescents, and adults in school based programs and outpatient clinics, She has received training in Trauma Focuses Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), both of which are therapies that can be used to treat a wide variety of traumatic experiences. She lives in De Queen and enjoys spending time with her friends and family.
As a Licensed Professional Counselor, Leah practices a client-centered approach to therapy. Specific techniques include; reality therapy, cognitive behavioral therapy, cognitive processing therapy, motivational interviewing, Christian counseling, strengths based approach, and other modalities when necessary to address the individual needs of the client. Leah believes the strength of the therapeutic relationship and the client’s resiliency are cornerstones of successful outcomes. She is passionate about working with clients who are motivated and open to processing their story. She looks forward to helping the citizens in her community.
